Here’s a quick post from UltraCam customer, AEROmetrex, submitted by Fabrice Marre, Geospatial Business Developer for the company.

– Jerry Skaw, Sales and Marketing, Microsoft UltraCam Group

AEROmetrex has just completed a large-scale mapping project for the Queensland Government involving the provision of 50cm Natural colour and near infrared orthophotos for the rural part of North Queensland and 15cm over the towns, totalizing 44000 square km. The data have been acquired using our large format digital aerial cameras, UltraCamD and UltraCamX, and close to 8500 frames have been processed.

The following 3D fly-through has been generated using the natural colour orthophotos wrapped over the digital terrain model extracted during the photogrammetric process. Lake Tinaroo and part of the Daintree river in North Queensland can be seen along the way. Elements such as lighting, water reflection, clouds and atmosphere effects have been integrated in this simulation to increase realism.
